Christophe Fischer is a German expat with a hair up his ass to recuperate the lost and abandoned vineyards of Maremma on the coast of Tuscany. His project started in 2014 with a 1 hectare area of old bush vines in a region the locals once called 'Millocchio' meaning a thousand eyes. He's since propagated and planted 2 more hectares in the Selection Massale style. He's energetic and wild, confident and anxious to restore the old hillsides with the vines of the old days. Come take a dip on the Tuscan coast.
The Ranchelle 'Millochhio' is Ciliegiolo, Alicante (Cannonau, not Alicante Bouchet) and Sangiovese on sandy clay and limestone soils. Funky and bright, a little grippy. Drink with a large pizza.
