Oriol Artigas is our dude! Oriol makes natural wine in Alella, a 25 minute drive north from Barcelona proper. His jam is finding old coastal vineyards and restoring them using organic farming, bringing out their Mediterranean charm. He allows vegetation to grow among the vines, prunes very little and likes to let the grapes do the talking. He deals largely in Pansa Blanca (the local variety of Xarel.lo) but makes fresh, ethereal reds, as well. We've had the pleasure of hosting him at Fool's, and make sure we always have his juice on hand. Vale!!
Peça d'en Blanch is old vine Garnatxa Negra and Pansa Blanca from a single south facing vineyard. Fermented whole berry in stainless for 11 days. Deep, rich, black and red fruits. Earthy, full of the soils of Alella and the climate of the Mediterranean sea.
