The Grosjean estate is situated among some of Vallee d'Aoste's best cru vineyard sites. The family traces its roots back to cattle ranching in the high mountain passes, growing chestnuts and tending to vines for family consumption. In 1969 Dauphin Grosjean was encouraged to bring his wine to the local "wine expo," and the rest is pretty much history. He farms organically a number of local varieties, each super expressive and true to terroir.
The Fumin is one of the oldest varieties of the estate. Fermented and aged in used oak. Deep flavors of blackberries and raspberries, a slight pepper note and soft tannin. Stays light on its feet.
