The tiny town of Pamhagen lies in the eastern reaches of Neusiedlersee, Austria, just meters from the Hungarian Border. Brothers, Erich and Michael Andert operate the liveliest of properties in this village. They've got geese, ducks, chickens and sheep to help in the vineyards. They farm vineyards, geek out over herbs, cure meats and ferment veggies. The have been Demeter certified since 2003. They share their knowledge of farming and their endearing hospitality to everyone from the random wine nerd to the curious kids of the Vienna school district. All wines are hand harvested, fermented in open vats and aged in old oak barrels underground. Low sulfur additions.
This low ABV chugger is 100% Zweigelt and 100% ready for a blanket and a picnic in the park. Cured meats, pigs in a blanket or on its own, throw a slight chill on this puppy and she ready. High toned red and blue fruit, some herbs and dried rose, down the hatch.
