The Languedoc is one of those high value, low key rad AF wine regions we industry people keep in our pockets if only to continue to drink good juice on the cheap. It's Mediterranean vibes meets southern Rhône varietals minus the hefty price tag plus a whole gaggle of garrigue. André Iché inherited a 13 hectare estate and after much dealings in the négociant business, was led to bottle his own wines. His daughter, Marie-Pierre runs the show now and the winery has expanded into steep terraced cru sites offering up deep, violet, terroir-driven wines perfect for any dish at the dinner table.
The 'Les Hérétiques' is a blend of Carignan, Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah from rocky clay, limestone and sandy soils. Deep in color, full of violets and red fruits. Slight structure, medium body, loves a weeknight on the table with the homies.
