Cellar Frisach ‘L’Abrunet’ Garnatxa Terra Alta, Spain 2018
Regular priceSale price
Celler Frisach lies in the tiny little town of Corbera d’Ebra, in the region of Terra Alta, about 100 miles southwest of Barcelona. The Ferré family has been farming organic grapes in the region for 200 years, but only since 2009 have they been bottling the wine, when (then) 21-year-old Francesc Ferré took over operations. Now at whopping 28, Francesc and his brawny brother, Joan pretty much run the show in Terra Alta. They understand the region (and garnatxa) like none other- experimenting with old vineyards, nearly extinct varietals and little to no sulfur additions. The soils here are packed with chunks of calcium deposits, imparting a mineral, saline finish in all of the Frisach wines.
Drink, drink, drink!!
The L'Abrunet' garnatxa negra is fun and funky, super easy and right down the hatch. Loves a chill and a watering hole and hot boys in Spanish summer sun.
