The kids have taken over. The little northern Pfalz region of Bockenheim had been all but forgotten before brothers, Daniel and Jonas Brand took over their family vineyard. These strapping young men have plans to make cool wines and to get the world woke on wines from the northern Pfalz. They farm fresh, organic and sometimes biodynamic vines on their old family plots. I'm pretty sure they wear Vans, too.
Ok get ready. The 'Wilder Satz' is made up 38% Müller Thurgau, 7% Riesling 7%, 8% Kerner, 8% Silvaner, 18% Chardonnay, 18% Weissburgunder 3% Grauburgunder. The Müller Thurgau is fermented in stainless steel with an addition of a tea brew inside the tank as well as Riesling grapes. The rest have varying macerations. Yellow apple, orchard fruit, jasmine, ginger.
