The fam behind Bergkloster has been tending vines and making wines since the 18th century. The current vineyard property has been with the family for 120 years on the sunny hillsides of Westofen area in the Rheinhessen. The have about 9 hectares of vines spread out through various subregions, all in one of the hottest regions in Germany. Wines tend to have a little bod, a remarkable fruit component and bracing acidity. Wines are super eco- no chemicals or herbicides and no additives in the cellar.
The St Laurent is grown in loess, clay marl and a little limestone. 9 months in oak and stainless. Fresh, young, vibrant. Full of iron and violet. red fruit and great acidity. Cured meats and a park vibe on the real.
