Alfredo Maestro 'Castrillo del Duero' Tempranillo Castilla y León, Spain 2016
Regular priceSale price
Full-bodied and fresh Tinto Fino from the outer boroughs of Ribera del Duero. The Castrillo del Duero is a nice throwback to a less bulky iteration of Tinto Fino. Alfredo Maestro has been going against the grain around Ribero for some time now. He farms organically, picks at optimal time for freshness and doesn't over-oak or manipulate.
This 100% Tempranillo is picked from 70 year old vines and aged solely in concrete egg. Raspberries, blackberries, herbs and a nice little tannic backbone.
