Oriol Artigas is our dude! Oriol makes natural wine in Alella, a 25 minute drive north from Barcelona proper. His jam is finding old coastal vineyards and restoring them using organic farming, bringing out their Mediterranean charm. He allows vegetation to grow among the vines, prunes very little and likes to let the grapes do the talking. He deals largely in Pansa Blanca (the local variety of Xarel.lo) but makes fresh, ethereal reds, as well. We've had the pleasure of hosting him at Fool's, and make sure we always have his juice on hand. Vale!!
The method ancestral 'La Rauxa' is cofermented with wild yeast in tank, then aged on the lees in bottle for 9 months before disgorging at under 2g/L residual sugar, and finished without fining, filtration or added SO2. Fresh and bright, salty Mediterranean wine great with seafood. Este vino es muy, muy divertido!!
